Amazon cruises eco travel philosophy
At Latin Trails - Amazon Cruises - we are strong advocates of responsible tourism practices and have played a pioneer role in helping develop true ecotourism throughout Latin America. We support local conservation organizations, using local guides (we train local tour leaders for our international partners), and our riverboats comply with international standards for safety and polution control.
Our Amazon cruise fleet is composed of expedition ships and private yachts that allow visitors to explore the unique cultures and wildlife of the region. Latin Trails has been one of the leaders in small boat cruises, building exciting travel packages around these unique vessels.
On board our boats a knowledgeable crew teams up with our guides and tour leaders to pamper and safeguard our clients. Guides on board are world class when it comes to explaining the wonders of Amazon wildlife, they also play a key role in conservation and education about the importance of protecting the areas we visit.
We have just recently inaugurated our newest venue - Kumanii Lodge - in the Choco rainforest of Ecuador, one of 10 hot spots for bio-diversity on the planet. Kumanii rainforest lodge is a sustainable tourism project and supports conservation of the forest and cultures of the region. We work with several rural and sustainable tourism projects that allow passengers to enjoy what we call VOLUNTOURISM and meet indigenous people and to share part of their culture, as well as participate in their conservation efforts.
We are your experts in nature cruises & wilderness travel in the Amazon river basin of Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru.
