Does “sustainability” sell
By David - 2/2/2012 Does “sustainability” sell? Probably not many travelers choose a trip on the basis of sustainability, but in many ways it determines the sucess of the experience. Sustainability is one of the most important tasks of a tour operator and for all of us in the travel industry a very important issue. So we in Amazonas are very pleased that this year the World Sustainability Forum will be held in Manaus, March 22-24th. More than 800 political leaders, business people, researchers will meet to discuss the “Green Economy and Sustainable Development”. Among them will be Bianca Jagger of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation and President Gro Brundtland the Prime Minister of Norway. It is a step in the right direction! Manatee Amazon Explorer unique way to explore the wonders of Yasuni
By David - 2/2/2012 “Unique way to explore a remote area of the world” Reviewed 31 December 2011 We took the 5 day / 4 night trip on the Manatee. It's a unique opportunity to see a part of the world in relative comfort, that not many people get to see at all. It's a great way to extend a trip to the Galapagos, but be sure to start with the Amazon first. Otherwise, the Galapagos will spoil you for wildlife sightings, which on the Amazon are much more typical.

Yasuní National Park is home to the Waorani and some of the last indigenous peoples still living in isolation in the Amazon, whose ancestral lands sit atop Ecuador’s largest undeveloped oil reserves, the Ishpingo-Tambococha-Tiputini (ITT) oil block.
