Tucano Amazon riverboat
The Tucano experience is fun and fascinating and takes place in the last great wilderness on earth. The Amazon cruise vessel Tucano has comfortable cabins with large beds and private baths, and is air-conditioned throughout.
Trips on Tucano are not luxury cruises! But at the same time you can be comfortable and focus on the forest and its magnificent wildlife. Tucano allows us to do that, in style. The tour program is sophisticated. With our small groups (Max. 18 people), trained naturalist guides, and thoughtful itineraries, we offer a genuine, thrilling experience with the REAL Amazon rainforest. Tucano operates trips on regular fixed departure dates and also group charters.
Into the heart of the Amazon
Amazon Nature Tours takes you by river boat into some of the most remote, untouched rainforest in the Amazon. You’ll venture far up the Rio Negro, the least-inhabited river in the Amazon Basin, and explore areas rarely visited by outsiders. Led by accomplished naturalist guides you’ll see creatures almost never seen by other visitors—in fact, the experience is something like being on a time machine, as you are able to explore places that have not changed for millions of years.
Your 8 night cruise aboard the M/Y Tucano will penetrate the deeply hidden areas of the Amazon, revealing its lush vegetation and fascinating wildlife. You’ll observe “caboclos” living in stilt houses along the river, see gold prospectors, and watch fresh water dolphins playing in the wake of the boat. Highlights will include alligator spotlighting in a canoe and piranha fishing in the surrealistic waters of the Rio Negro. You’ll also go on easy jungle treks where you’ll observe wildlife, flora and learn about jungle survival techniques. And you’ll cruise to the "Wedding of the Waters," where the coffee-brown Amazon and the inky-black Rio Negro meet and flow side by side for miles before intermingling
