Start the day with another optional birdwatching trip at dawn. The Yucuruchi region supports abundant wildlife, which includes scarlet macaws that dwell in forest canopies and pink dolphins that swim through the Ucayali River. People who have luck will spot the giant Victoria regia waterlily, which features enormous leaves that measure around 10 feet across. Start your day by exploring the local plants and animals through a skiff tour.
The afternoon session lets you experience piranha and catfish fishing on the Yarapa River, where you must return all your catches to the water. The expedition will start when darkness consumes the day. Your guide will use spotlights to show you caimans and bats and night herons and other creatures while the jungle plays its eerie night sounds. The ship continues its journey northward on the Amazon River after dinner.
