La Perla Cruise

La Perla Experience: 4-Day Annual Program Itinerary B

Embark on a 4-day Amazon River cruise adventure aboard La Perla, starting in Iquitos and exploring the Pacaya Samiria Reserve, Yanayacu River, and more. Experience nocturnal boat rides, wildlife watching, canopy walks, cultural exchanges with shamans, and immersive Amazonian nature and traditions.

Your Amazon adventure kicks off in Iquitos with a guided city tour, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Next, travel to the port town of Nauta and board the La Perla cruise ship. Settle into your cabin and meet your expert naturalist guides, who will introduce the upcoming journey and the unique Amazon wildlife. As the ship begins sailing along the Marañón River, enjoy a welcome lunch inspired by local cuisine. Afterward, head out on a thrilling night boat excursion to Nauta Caño, where the nocturnal Amazon comes alive with frogs, bats, caimans, and tarantulas. Return to the ship for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Start your day with a scenic picnic breakfast along the Yanayacu River in Pucate, part of the untouched Pacaya Samiria Reserve—home to the iconic pink river dolphins. Glide through the serene waters by canoe and take a dip if you’re feeling adventurous. After lunch back on board, enjoy a presentation on Amazonian philosophy. In the afternoon, visit the village of San Regis for a cultural exchange with a local shaman, who will share traditional wisdom about rituals, healing plants, and life in the rainforest. Conclude the visit with a tree-planting ceremony before returning to the ship for dinner, live music, and a preview of tomorrow’s activities.

Rise early for a wildlife-watching trip to Iquitos Brook, a prime spot for observing birds and jungle creatures in the morning light. After breakfast, venture into the forest on a canopy walk across a series of hanging bridges, offering a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest’s vibrant biodiversity. Later, enjoy lunch and a break before an afternoon excursion to the Shiriyacu stream. Try traditional piranha fishing and keep an eye out for pink dolphins. The day ends with a relaxed dinner on board, set to the sounds of live Amazonian music under the stars.

Start the morning with a final boat trip to Gasparito Brook, a haven for birdwatchers and primate lovers alike. After breakfast, enjoy a fun demonstration of how to make Peru’s beloved cocktail—the Pisco Sour. Then, disembark and begin the journey back to Iquitos. On the way, stop by the Amazon Forever Bio Park, where rescued animals like manatees are cared for before being released back into the wild—a meaningful end to your Amazon experience. Finally, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
